On August 15, 1991, a young woman had an encounter with
God that changed her life forever. Today, Selena Grant Justice shares
that experience with thousands thru her music, songs and ministry. It
happened on an ordinary night during a revival service at the First Pentecostal
Holiness Church, Apalachicola, Florida.
In the previous years, Selena spent her time chasing that "Neon
Rainbow" in Nashville, recording songs and trying to become "somebody".
Though her possibilities were mounting, today Selena proclaims, "Praise,
God, for divine interventions! To think that I had come so close to allowing
all the gifts of God within me to be perverted in the worlds' secular
music mania."
On that special night in August, God held a mirror to her face and Selena
saw for the first time that life in this world is so fragile and temporal.
Realizing the reality of Jesus and His sacrifice on the Cross-, she fell
to her knees, onto an old fashion altar, where Selena repented and vowed
to use her gifts and talents for the glory of God only. The presence of
God flooded her with love and consumed her from that moment on.
God immediately began working to strengthen Selena. He put a mighty woman
of God, Dorothy Faircloth; in her life to spoon-feed her the word daily.
Selena's pastor, Ron Jackson, after two years sent her with his and the
church's' blessing to be mentored under Pastor Roy Carroll, her spiritual
father. Selena said, "Coming from a broken home this father
image was vital to my healing". Following five and half years
of ministry as Praise and Worship Leader under Pastor Carroll, Selena
was sent out again with blessings.
In October 1997, the favor of God lead Selena to Living Word Fellowship,
in Panama City, Fl, where she spent six years gleaning and ministering
under the anointing and leadership of Sion Alford and Pastor Hayward Miller.
During this season, Selena and Brother Sion collaborated their
gifts of song writing and production, resulting with a great majority
of the songs being featured on projects such as "Great Big God",
"From The Cradle To The Cross", "The Secret To
The Secret Place", and 2002's release of "Turn The Praise
Up". These are all praise and worship CD's recorded at Living

Today, Selena Grant Justice is still the choir director, a worship leader, songwriter and a musician at Living Word, under the direction of Michael A. McCuen, Minster of Music, and Dr Hayward Miller, Pastor. Although she has added traveling evangelistically to her ministry list, Selena still believes in the importance of commitment and accountability to her local home church and community.
Also, Selena is an owner, operator, of her own hair salon in P.C.,
which, as she describes as none other than Full Time Ministry. "I've
seen God Change so many lives through my business. People think they're
just coming to get a new look, but instead, many times they leave with
a new heart, PRAISE JESUS! I'm so amazed with the "ways of God";
He's always surprising me! People have asked me many times, "why
haven't you pursued a career in singing?" I simply tell them, Anyway
God uses me to win souls, is ok with me. I have never felt like I had
to be on a stage with a microphone, singing or preaching (although
I'm called to do both,) to have a platform for the gospel. I have the
Blood of The Lamb, and the Word of My Testimony to preach from!"
In January 2002, Selena married for the first and only time, at age 36,
to a wonderful man of God, Timothy D. Justice. She says, "He
can't carry a tune, but he sure carries my heart." And that's
the story.
Selena, Tim and daughter Haley, live and worship in Panama
City, Florida.
